Westlake Village, CA – September 25, 2006 — The 48th International Engineering
Trade Fair and the 5th International Machine Tools Trade Fair (IMT) were held at the Brno Trade Fair Grounds from September 18th through 22nd, 2006.
Over 2100 exhibitors from 32 countries filled the pavilions and all exhibition areas, including the United States, UK, China, India, Japan, Taiwan and
Canada and all were promoting their latest technologies.
Each year, the exhibitors vie for the show’s top prize – the Trade Fair’s Gold Medal. The importance of the trade fair was
highlighted by the presence of Czech President Vaclav Klaus, who opened the fair as part of his one day visit to Brno. The President welcomed all attendees to
the booths of top Czech and foreign companies. Soon it was time to announce the Gold Medal winner... 3E Praha Engineering’s manufacturing experts combined with
TrueMill® technology resulted in the Gold Medal and therefore a very successful 2006 International Engineering Fair.
SURFCAM Velocity® software is powered by TrueMill, a new patent-pending (now patented) technology by Surfware, Inc., that has truly revolutionized
milling. Previously, all CAM software limited machining potential by frequently overloading the cutter. The intelligent TrueMill engine manages the cutter’s
engagement angle with the material at a user-controlled level. The result is a smooth, fluid machining motion which is free from any sudden tool load fluctuations common
in traditional toolpaths. Not only does this allow shorter cycle times by machining faster and deeper, the steady cutting promotes longer tool and machine life.
In addition to the Brno Trade Fair, 3E Praha Engineering has won its second 1st Prize through the use of Surfware’s TrueMill technology at the
Machining Engineering Fair in Nitra in June 2006. These awards are given by Agrokomplex Company in Nitra each year.
TrueMill technology was first introduced at the Czech and Slovak market in 2005 at MACH in Prague and MSV in Nitra Machining trade
shows. TrueMill, a new toolpath engine only available in the SURFCAM Velocity series of products, is transforming machining worldwide by enabling astounding material
removal rates while extending cutting tool life previously unattainable with conventional toolpath generators.
About Surfware, Inc.
Surfware develops SURFCAM Velocity CAD/CAM systems for two- through five-axis NC programming and machining. The company grew out of
three generations of Diehl family machining experience. Surfware’s current president, Stephen Diehl, is experienced in physics, business and programming
and is personally involved in further developments regarding the TrueMill technology.
